Welcome to the Nursery class page.
Nursery home learning for 30th September 2020
We are a busy and hard-working class who like to have fun as we learn through our play. We try to live by our school motto ‘May Christ Be Seen In Us’ by following our class rules; being kind and helpful and always trying our best in everything we do.
What are we learning about?
In Maths we are learning to count and recognise numbers to 10. We will be counting the things we find inside our classroom and in our outdoor area too. We will be making patterns and looking at shapes.
In literacy we are working on developing our listening skills and singing our favourite Nursery Rhymes.
We will listen to lots of stories, join in with repeated refrains and talk about the characters.
We are enjoying learning about ourselves, our bodies and our family and home. We are learning that everyone is different, but everyone is special.
What happens when?
PE is on Tuesday. Please send your child in suitable clothing for PE, such as leggings, jogging trousers, t-shirt and sweatshirt, on this day.
Library is on Friday. Please keep the book at home for a week and return the following Friday.
How can I help my child?
Supporting your child’s independence is the biggest help you can give us. Helping them to put their own coats on, go to the toilet and read their names are all ways that increase their independence.
Share story books and read with your child every day.
Sing Nursery Rhymes.
Play with letters: make them out of dough, bricks, or even use magnetic letters and stick them on the fridge.
Practise counting – you can do this anywhere: count toys, books, how many buses you see when you go out.
Play hide and seek – good practice for counting.
Do a jigsaw together – a fun way to develop spatial awareness and matching skills.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Clark, Mrs Railton, Mrs Birtles and Miss Lyons
