|I have had the privilege of serving on St. Patrick’s governing body for over twenty years as a Foundation Governor and have recently been appointed as a National Leader of Governance for the National College for School Leadership.Governors have a hugely important part to play in setting the strategic direction of the school working alongside the Senior Management Team, to ensure children are given the best possible start along their education journey. I believe that this responsibility is discharged at St Patrick’s to the very best of our ability.
||I have lived in St Patrick’s Parish for 36 years and am an active member of the Parish. I first joined the Board of Governors of St Patrick’s school, as an elected Parent Governor. My first term of office was for two years. Following this I was asked by the then Parish Priest, Fr David Russell, if I would consider becoming a Foundation Governor, to which I agreed. Overall I have been a Governor for 23 years. Presently I hold the position of Assistant Chairperson and I am the Governor responsible for Science, Race Equality and Safeguarding. I go into School on a regular basis and meet as many of the pupils as I can as well as their parents.
