Year 6 – Mr Williams

Welcome to Year 6!

Year 6 are dedicated to being positive role models to the younger children in the school and are enjoying the responsibility of being school Prefects. Around the school, good behaviour is rewarded using Class Dojo – points are earned through children displaying behaviours such as being on-task, contributing to lessons and being a team player. To acknowledge their hard work, the Dojo champion of the week is awarded a certificate in assembly on a Tuesday!

Within our RE lessons, we will be learning about how beliefs and values inspire and influence people to demonstrate unconditional love. Our RE topics are explored creatively using scripture to help us gain an understanding and a perspective of the actions and values of people who lived long ago.

Things to remember:

Homework is set weekly on a Friday to be collected in on a Wednesday. Spellings are also handed out weekly, to be tested on a Friday. PE lessons are on Wednesday afternoons and therefore children need to bring the appropriate PE kit to school on Wednesdays.

Year 6 are encouraged to do at least 20 minutes of reading every day. Furthermore, children should be learning and reciting their times tables daily to develop rapid recall.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mr Williams
